This is a hand-painted wooden Ukrainian decorative egg, featuring a detailed lacquered illustration of the Bohdan Khmelnytsky Monument in Kyiv, Ukraine (est. 1888). The artwork includes traditional Ukrainian domes and ornate scrollwork, all finished with a glossy varnish.
The bottom of the egg is inscribed in Ukrainian with:
“Київ – Памятник Богдану Хмельницькому”
Translation: “Kyiv – Monument to Bohdan Khmelnytsky.”
